My family decided to take a trip to New Hope, PA to see their scarecrows! We woke up early to get ready, do hair and diaper changes and we left around 9:40am. The drive was about 1 hour and 20 minutes, so the car ride was a Disney playlist filled with dramatics and loud singing! The drive isn’t too bad when you have good company and a good playlist! My son and husband both napped on the way there, my husband worked the night before! I was a bit confused because we’ve never been there so I wasn’t sure what to expect. There was a sign that said Peddler Village and we just parked in the closest parking lot we can find. The parking was also free! (Anything free is always good!!) We dressed extra cozy considering when we arrived it was 54 degrees! So thermals, sweaters and hats (just in case). The weather ended up being perfect! It wasn’t too cold!
When we arrived there wasn’t many people and the walking wasn’t too bad. There were benches and tables at almost every corner which was very nice! I was having a hard time breathing and having some chest pains, so sitting every once in a while was beneficial.
There were soooo many scarecrows! Instagram and there website counted 100 of them! There are also QR codes on the number tag so you can vote for your favorite one!
Lots of the scarecrows were family friendly and had characters that my daughter was able to point out, while others did frighten my one year old.
There were many stores to walk around in and view a variety of items! There are 65 stores in the shopping district and 15 areas to dine and snack. We found a map right when we were leaving which would’ve been useful when we first arrived! (Good for when looking for a bathroom!) I didn’t expect the area to be as big as it was.
We did our best to look at as many stores as we did. Honestly, each store we went into was absolutely beautiful ! A lot of the items were a bit overpriced, but it was nice to look at. There were Christmas stores, book stores, clothing stores, witchy ones too and I’m sure there were many more that we didn’t even get to see.
We were starting to get hungry and stopped at the first restaurant we saw, Cock N’ Bull Restaurant
We weren’t really sure what we were walking into when we walked in but it was pretty good and decently priced considering there were 4 adults and one child eating with drinks!
One of two of my favorite parts of the whole trip was visiting the Greenology Store! Walking into the store felt like an automatic ease. Everything was peaceful, earthy, just felt at ease. Both my husband and best friend thought so as well. Luckily my best friend was able to capture pictures of the store, because just seeing the pictures are as beautiful as walking around in the store. They also had a section where you can make your own terrarium plant!
My second favorite part of our day trip was the gazebo. I know. It probably sounds silly, but I love the show Gilmore Girls. Ever since I was younger, I rewatch the entire series multiple times. So when I saw the gazebo, it just fit. It fit with the buildings and trees and plants and it was just like I saw in a scene of Gilmore Girls. It was nice because they had benches where you can sit inside and just rest.
The whole day took about 4 hours of walking and having something to eat. It was so worth the trip!
I’ll a link below to their website if you wanted to look into planning a trip! They also have different events throughout the month of October! I can’t wait to see what they have planned for December!
